Doug Ray has been a financial advisor for 30 years and realized very early in his career the critical difference in the financial needs of those 5 to 10 years on either side of retirement as compared with those still building careers and retirement portfolios. Transitioning from asset building to asset protection and creating protected retirement income became the focus of his practice and professional education. Doug has guided hundreds of families to transition successfully into retirement, confident in knowing they’ve secured protected income that supports their lifestyle.
Born in Winston Salem, Doug graduated from East Carolina with a B.S. in Business Administration, then served eight years of active duty in the U.S. Navy as a combat aviator and instructor. During his instructor tour in Pensacola, he completed his MBA with a concentration in finance. He and his family returned to N.C. in 1988 where he worked for Merrill Lynch. In 1998, Doug opened his own practice as an independent financial advisor better able to offer his clients the best financial products for their goals without the captive product mentality of corporate financial firms. He has offices in South Charlotte and Clemmons with clients throughout North and South Carolina.
